Perfect Vision

A Clear Look At The Future Of Mankind

Walk With Me But Don't Forget Your Smartphone.

Around the outside of the fair grounds is a two lane road.  Automated vehicles ride in perfect order quickly circling the fair dropping off and picking up passengers.  The PRT (Personal Rapid Transit) System replaces the buses, trains and trams of other World's Fairs.  These little 4 passenger cars have no steering wheels, they are completely computer controlled.  To call a car, use the PRT app and tell it where you want to go.  It will direct you to a local PRT point where your car will find you.  Once inside, you can choose to go to the parking area, circle the fair or get dropped off at a particular destination.  PRTs are in use at select locations around the world.

The Fair App

Your Smarphone is your best companion at the Fair.  The free Fair App opens the door to many new features at the Fair making it an indespensible part of your visit.  The Fair has free WiFi with excellent coverage over its entirety.

The App is key to an enjoyable visit as it is integral to the basic design of connecting people and making it easier to keep track of what you've done and things you'd like to do.

DAY PLANNER

Simply tell the App how much time you intend to be at the Fair and choose the kinds of things you like and it will plan your day so you can see as many things as possible during your visit.  The Day Planner will also alert you to shows, concerts and talks that are scheduled at various venues.  If you are on a multi-day visit, it will keep tabs on what you've seen, allow you to make audio and video notes and comments on your experience and you can even see reviews of attractions and Must See events rated by other fair goers.

Emergency Call

You can use the App to notify emergency personnel to any situation where you might need help.  The app will use your GPS to get you the help you need quickly.

Fair Bucks

You can preload the App with Fair Bucks that you can use for purchases inside the fair.  This way you don't have to use cash or credit cards during your visit.  You could use this to give an allowance to your teens who want visit attractions you might not be interested in.

Walk With  Me

The Walk With Me function allows you to stream video and audio to a website where others can go with you as you visit the fair.  This can also be used to document your visit for later review.  The conference feature connects homebound visitors you can talk to as you walk through the exhibits.

Find Me

The Find Me feature, let's others track your progress through the fair.  It will help you re-group with family members who have split up.

Show Me Where

Are you hungry?  The food guide will show you where the closest eateries are located and their menus.  You can reserve a table at a restaurant or review a menu of food choices at the numerous stands.  It will also show you where the closest restrooms are located or even the quietest park bench for a mid-afternoon break to rest your legs.

Tour Guide

The Tour Guide is an indespensible partner.  It will show you the people traffic at pavilions where you can choose the best times to visit.  When you near an exhibit it will tell you about what you are seeing and describe features in your own language - a must have for foreign visitors.

Interactions

The App will automatically allow you to interact with certain exhibits using your camera and display to give you additional information, animation, videos and audio to enhance each exhibit.  With the built in AR (Augmented Reality) layer, it can superimpose digital avatars in exhibits bringing an ancient village to life as an example or seeing specifications or x-ray views of a new motor.

Games

You can get your virtual passport stamped at each pavilion trying to collect the most.  Prizes will be given away to the best photos at the fair or you might be chosen as a Club Reporter to update a blog on the fair website.  You can play treasure hunt games or even special attractions where you activate certain functions following a series of clues.  You can play games with others or even have a cartoon character that follows you around.

Business

If you would like more information about a product or service, the business button will give the company your information where they can send you products, newsletters and updates on the items they offer.

Concert Companion

When you are at one of the many music, dance or art exhibitions, the Concert Companion will provide you with live links to information about the performances, interactions with the artists or even become part of the concert itself.

Aero Food

Looking for the most unique way to enjoy fast food?  Call the Aero Food Drone.  Around the fair are many raised platforms at strategic locaitons.  You can either order food from the Fair App or you can order it at the Aero Food station.

In a short while, a drone carrying your order will fly in and land on the platform.  A box will lower from it's belly and place your order in a tray within reach.

The drone then takes off again to make more pickups and deliveries.

Telepresence Robots

A fleet of Telepresence Robots wander the fair moving with the visitors looking at attractions and locales.  These robots are used by people and groups who can't attend the fair in person.  They are remotely controlled via the web and stream audio and video back to the user.  Imagine a classroom in a remote country where the students take turns visiting attractions that interest them.

Seen here is the Vgo.

Sensors on the base of the Vgo keep it from running into people.

When It's All Over

So the fair is over, what now?  While many of the exhibits and attractions will be removed, the fair buildings are designed to continue their post-fair existence as office buildings, a business incubator, a mall, a food court, hotels, a hospital, government offices, museum, parks, community center, concert hall, convention center, library, and restaurants.  The power system will continue to generate power for the island and local city for decades to come.  The fundamental designs of the structures are intended to be re-purposed and re-used to serve the City of Detroit.

The Detroit World's Fair can inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs, thinkers and planners. For those of us old enough to remember a trip to a World's Fair, it was a life changing event.  Whenever a conversation about World's Fairs begins, one inevitably hears "I was at the '62 World's Fair in Seattle" or "I was at Seville  in '92".  Some have the distinction of having been to multiple Fairs in their lifetimes.

A Fair is a milestone in a person's life and a country's existence; it's impact is substantial and long-lasting. Fairs have always had their own unique challenges during inception, but the results have been spectacular with the most innovative architectural wonders on display and the hope of modern society brought forth by leading businesses and nations from around the world.

We need a World's Fair and Detroit is the best place to have it. It will revitalize Detroit's economy with sustainable business growth and place the United States in a much needed positive light among the world's countries. Let's open the doors to a World's Fair in 2020 and invite the world to Detroit to come and explore.
